Purpose
This Spanish Artist Project WebQuest was created to facilitate student exploration of art within the Spanish-speaking world. The intent is not only to familiarize students with some artists and their artwork, but also to impart the notion that history and culture are inseparable from art, and that one must understand these realities in order to understand art and the artist. The goal is for students to research and analyze these elements and then draw their own conclusions about the relationships therein.
Rationale
It is important that students understand the significance of art in the human paradigm, not only as a means of gaining historical perspective, but also as a means of understanding this moment in history and the issues of our own time.

This WebQuest was designed for learners of high school age that have completed at least 1 year of Spanish. It could also be used as Art History class assignment, although the Spanish PowerPoint requirement would need to be modified.
